About Me

Hi dear friends, I’m Duygu! I’m originally Turkish and currently live in Amsterdam. I’ve been traveling for years with family, friends and now with my husband, and I have visited over 40 countries.

I started traveling at a relatively young age, thanks to the vision and efforts of my parents. Even as a child, they took me everywhere they went, which surely left a lasting impact on me.

My first solo travel was for a summer school in the UK during high school, encouraged by my father. Back then, I was incredibly shy and couldn’t even navigate my own city’s transportation. But being in a new country with people from different cultures exhilarated me and planted the seeds of a lifelong travel addiction.

In university, the roles reversed. I found myself pitching ideas to convince my parents to let me go to the US for a work-and-travel program, and I made it happen. That was followed by a year in Austria for Erasmus exchange, an interrail across Europe and a master's in UK. Later, my career took me to Luxembourg, Turkey, and now Amsterdam, where I work a corporate day job.

Now, as a working woman, my way of traveling has changed a lot. I can afford more exciting experiences, but I have less time with only 25 days of PTO. I plan every trip carefully and efficiently because my motto is: "No corner unexplored". And yes, I have a little FOMO. The world is big, and I love discovering new destinations. As I might not get a second chance, I try to make the most of every first visit.

I’ve noticed more and more friends asking about our trips and where we stayed. Luckily, I’m blessed with a husband who loves to travel as much as I do. This blog is where I share our adventures, how we plan them, and tips for making the most of your trips. I started it as a memory bank for myself, but now it’s also for all of you, to explore, see, and enjoy the world as much as I do.
